Learned Something New Today About Gizmodo

Some people seem to think that a good way to get backlinks to their site is to spam blog comments all day long and hope to get some ‘nofollow’ links. Why waste your time and energy? Maybe it works for some if they spam thousands of comments all day long, but in the long run you will probably end up getting your domain banned by Google. What fun is that?

I like Gizmodo and similar sites, and every once in awhile I will post a comment but I don’t put links in them. I didn’t even bother to check and see if my ‘homepage’ link in my Gizmodo profile was followed or not, but it turns out that it is. So as an experiment I’ve updated the link to a deeper page of Darntoothysam.com (my main ecommerce site) and am throwing a link at it from here to get it indexed. The links TO the profiles are nofollow so they are not indexed by Google.

There’s nothing exciting on my Gizmodo profile or in my comments really, but feel free to check it out if you like.

I’m just curious to see if the profile link will be indexed and if it will carry  any weight with it at all seeing as how my profile page is a PR 0 but Gizmodo itself is a PR8.

Work Continues on Client Sites

I spent a few hours last night (until 3am) working on a new clients site… the whole thing is done in tables and it’s not the sort of code that Google likes to see!

We aren’t website designers, but we are happy to work with what the client has to help them achieve their goals. The problem is, if it takes us a long time to implement changes to the code due to poor coding that will hurt your end results!

My recommendation for the client is to scrap the site and instead install a quality WordPress blog template instead! (This site of ours is just a WordPress template!) This will allow for easy changes, good coding, and a blog which is very important if you really want to crush the competition.

Minnesota Painting Contractor Hires TCESEO

It’s been a little difficult lately to keep up with all the businesses that I would like to talk with regarding their website search engine optimization. We don’t call just anybody, and we don’t try to sell our services to a company that won’t benefit from what we offer. New clients are still coming in about 1 per week.

Our newest client is Schoenfelder Painting, www.schoenfelderpainting.com in Minnetonka Mn.

Schoenfelder Painting is a well-established business with clients across the country. Got a hotel that needs to be painted in Texas or Georgia? Schoenfelder will do the job professionally and on time! Commercial clients tend to hire Schoenfelder for multiple projects after the first is done; that says a lot!

Schoenfelder Painting is a Residential Commercial Painting Contractor in Minneapolis. If you are in the Twin Cities, they will be happy to quote you on your project, give them a call and see for yourself!

Geeks Computer Repair Website Work Continues

We have been slowly working with Geeks Computer Service and Assistance on developing their website and getting them some rankings. New pages have been added to describe the different services they offer, as well as adding a page for each city in their mobile service area. Our goal is to have them in the top results for each of the cities, which include:

Computer repair Apple Valley MN
Computer repair Burnsville MN
Computer Repair Lakeville MN
Computer repair Prior Lake MN
Computer repair Savage MN
Computer repair Shakopee MN

The serviceable area may expand in the future, but for now they want their service to be quick and reliable.

The site has started to show improvements in rankings with some quality rankings for ‘computer repair Prior Lake’ and ‘virus removal Prior Lake’ , and an improved Alexa score of 1.6 million, down from 5 million when we first started.
